The Campaign Trail

 

Mark first began walking the campaign trail in Shapiro's Deli in Indianapolis, where he formally announced that he had filed to run for U.S. Senate for Indiana.  You can read about it here.

Recent Lincoln Day Dinners

Delsey Walls attended the Kosciusko County Lincoln Day Dinner. Delsey Walls and Connie Maugans (Kokomo Attorney and friend) were classmates at Bunker Hill.

 

Mark especially enjoyed hanging with the President and Vice President in Shelby County.  They were relaxed and easy to talk to.

Andrew Ireland has also been an incredible asset to this campaign as he has worked as one of the tech gurus between his studies at IU in Bloomington.  With IU and Purdue guys working on the technology, how can I go wrong?

At the Elkhart County Lincoln Day dinner, I met State Representative Curt Nisly and his wife Mary.

 

Susan Crouch, Lt. Governor, was the featured speaker at the Elkhart County Lincoln Day Dinner.

At the Kosciusko County Lincoln Day Dinner in Warsaw, Mark also got to meet "The Legend" and former commissioner, Avis Gunter.  Avis helped bring the soy bio diesel plant and jobs to Claypool, Indiana.

 

Former Shelby County GOP legendary chair, J L Showers -- he received the Sagamore of the Wabash from governor Holcomb.

 

Bill Jeffries and Andrew Ireland represented Mark at the Morgan County Lincoln Day Dinner.  Bill is an invaluable advisor. Many thanks to them both.

 

State Rep., District 67, Randall (Randy) Frye was the keynote speaker at the Switzerland Lincoln Day Dinner.

 

Thank you Jeff King for representing me at the Switzerland County Lincoln Day Dinner.  Jeff is a military veteran and cyber security professional.  More importantly, Jeff is a lifelong friend and great asset to this campaign.

 

I ate with and enjoyed visiting with Mark and Jill DeWitt at the Elkhart County Lincoln Day Dinner.

 

Gerald Walker introduced Mark at the Adams County Lincoln Day dinner.

 

Mark also had the opportunity to talk to the local newspaper at the Adams County Lincoln Day dinner.

 

The thing that I probably enjoy the most about this Senate campaign is going around and meeting people. Last night, I was at the Starke County Lincoln Day dinner. I am pictured here with Tim and Peg Brettin.

Mark had the opportunity to meet with the mayor of Decatur, Ken Meyer.

Hamilton County Lincoln Day Dinner

Last night, Mark was able to make his case for Senate in 2018 to the Hamilton County Lincoln Day dinner attendees.

 

The junior senator from Indiana, Todd Young, was the keynote speaker. Our big goal is to make Senator Young the senior senator from Indiana in November 2018.

It was a special treat to discuss policy with five Indiana University medical students.

It was good to see Mike and Cecilia Coble at the Hamilton County Lincoln Day dinner. Cecilia serves on the fishers City Council.


Bill Jeffries represented Mark at the Jasper County Lincoln Day. Bill is an invaluable advisor. He is an author and instructor, he graduated from West Point and taught at the war College, and he served our country as a Green Beret. Interestingly, he was an assistant to General Schwarzkopf. He is pictured with Mary Ann Critser, Chair of the Jasper County Republican Party.

Thursday night, Mark attended and spoke at the Allen County Lincoln Day dinner in Ft. Wayne. DeKalb Lincoln Day Dinner

Mark had a chance to speak to the audience at the Dekalb County Lincoln Day Dinner.

 

Mark and his wife enjoyed sitting with Dr. William and Sarah Hathoway.

 

It was a surprise and special treat for Mark and his wife to see long time business associate Tom Blake.  Tom and the Souders have been working together for many years with the The Country Shops of Grabill which once housed Souders' Furniture.

Mark and his wife, Nancy, thoroughly enjoyed the DaKalb County Lincoln Day Dinner which is close to her old stomping grounds in Grabill.  We are joined in this picture by Senator Dennis Kruse.  Interestingly, Nancy and Senator Kruse both attended Leo High School.

Mark and his wife also enjoyed visiting with Tara and Tristin Lilly.

 

The Lincoln Day Dinner was held at the National Auto & Truck Museum where beautiful vehicles were displayed.  I am pictured here with Sue Bauermeister and Kennedy Pontius who were among the many gracious hosts.


Tippecanoe County Lincoln Day Dinner

Mark enjoyed meeting and talking with the Tippecanoe County Republican Chairman, Tracy Brown.

 

Mark enjoyed meeting and talking to other Republicans from the county.

 

Mark, who is a deputy prosecuting attorney, had a chance to talk to Tippecanoe County Deputy Sheriffs John Ricks and Andy Cree.

Vice President Mike Pence's Brother, Greg Pence, and their mother were guest speakers before featured speaker Curtis Hill spoke.

 

Mark really enjoyed getting to meet graduate students who are also members of Purdue's Young Republicans Club.

At the Monroe County Lincoln Day Dinner, Mark stands with retired state trooper Tim Stephens and his wife Marty.

Mark met a new friend, Melany Smith, a 7th grade student in Peru, who worked hard passing out brochures at the Miami County Lincoln Day Dinner.

After the Shelby County Lincoln Day dinner, my son Daniel (my driver), and I enjoyed a boys night out. And Daniel is pictured here with Cracker Barrel manager Sam Mc Clarence.

 

Mark loves his family. His daughter Ana loves to dress up their dog!

Mark and Nancy have enjoyed special family times in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia and in Ludington, Michigan.

The "Kitchen Cabinet" Volunteers

The "Kitchen Cabinet" prepared a mailing of thousands while discussing the issues at the Jeffries' home in Zionsville. Honored to have the support and help of such kind people.

 

Mark and some volunteers are stuffing thousands of letters during his "Kitchen Cabinet" event at the Jeffries' home.

 

There are thousands of letters in these boxes, each having been personally addressed and stuffed by volunteers in Mark's "Kitchen Cabinet".

Mark and his "Kitchen Cabinet" personally address and stuff envelopes with letters and donation slips.

 

More "Kitchen Cabinet" volunteers at the event at the Jeffries' home.

 

Andrew Van Auken, who has helped with the "Kitchen Cabinet" activities, is the producer of "The Long Shot" video and is also the keeper of the website.  He is natrually great at being a Purdue University Graduate.


Mark Meets the Community

Mark stands with the co-owner of Fort Wayne's Famous Coney Island, along with a couple employees.  The co-owner happens to be from the same town in Romania that Mark's adopted Daughter is from!

Mark had the chance to speak to the Chairman's Republican Breakfast Club in Ft. Wayne. Afterwards, he stopped by Americans for Prosperity and met with Coleen Bonahoom and Landon Porter.
